Alex is an 18 year old female living in Northamptonshire. She wasn't born in the United Kingdom, but moved here at the age of 11. She has a deeply rooted love for music and art and surrounds herself with people who share the same passions and interests. She started learning piano herself at the age of 14 and since then she has had an ever greater appreciation for less mainstream music, with lyrics she can connect and sympathise with.
Family ideals have always been very important in her life, especially after moving out of her country with no-one but the people she lived with. They have helped her a lot to get through adapting to a new school and environment, when she didn't know anyone else and had a hard time talking to other people. Eventually, she has found a group of friends who had a similar taste in music and interests.
Alex usually dresses in jeans and oversized tees, accompanied by old trainers, colourful socks and a denim jacket covered in enamel pins. In the autumn, she's a big fan of wooly jumpers and long scarves with a big, vintage coat. She loves rummaging through charity shops in the search for cheap clothes that fit her 'fashion' sense, not caring whether her clothes are new or in perfect condition.
Music is a huge part of her life and she spends a lot of her free time searching for new artists to listen to. She's always the one to enthusiastically agree to a gig evening with her friends and never says no to a concert, even if she doesn't know the artist that well - no matter how much money she has (or doesn't have). She usually sticks to indie rock and generally more indie stuff, however she doesn't only stay within one genre and her taste varies depending on her mood. Alex is a big fan of watching films, with one of her favourites being Pan's Labyrinth directed by Guillermo del Toro or Grand Budapest Hotel by Wes Anderson. She's a big fan of good cinematography and soundtracks, however she also likes a bad comedy every once in a while.
Alex usually streams music online, being a dedicated Apple and Apple Music fan, however she also loves buying CDs whenever she really likes a particular album or wants to support the artist who made it. She wants to get a part time job just to start collecting vinyl records, which are unfortunately extremely expensive, and supporting more rather underground artists (both musicians and digital/traditional painters and illustrators).
