Research & Planning: Casting

After completing my storyboard and animatic, I had to look for the right people to cast in the production. I was after two females within the target demographic of the artist: 16-20. The closest 'source' of competent actors was the Drama A Level group, where I ended up finding just the right people for what I needed to do. During the casting procedure, I asked them both to lip sync to a song they both knew the lyrics to (which so happened to be 'Counting Stars' by One Republic), so that the process would be fair.

Name of Actor: Emma Liggins
Age: 17
Reason for choice: For as long as I've known Emma, she's been a brilliant stage actor; which was the primary reason I expressed my interest in casting her. As proven by the video, she feels very comfortable in front of the camera, and has a great ability to lip sync and articulate whatever she's saying - which will make her a brilliant choice for the main role. Additionally, she feels comfortable while being photographed, which will help tremendously with any shoots that will have to be carried out for the promotional material.

Name of Actor: Philippa Edwards

Age: 17
Reason for choice: As a Drama student, Philippa has good acting abilities - which will be be important during the production of the video. Additionally, although less so than Emma, she feels decently comfortable in front of the camera and can lip sync in tune with the music; and since the character she'll be portraying has a rather minor role, the slightly smaller confidence won't matter all that much.
