Research & Planning: MV Initial Ideas + Audience Feedback

In order to start the preparation for the making of my music video, I had to write up my initial ideas; I decided to do it in Google Docs, because it is easy for me to obtain audience feedback that way - I can simply just share the file link with my target audience (which, in this case, the audience I sent the document to consisted of four teenagers in the 17-19 age range).

After reflecting on everything I considered and the feedback from the target audience, the general ideas I decided to go with are:
  • a female character laying on a bed, surrounded by yarn (with some yarn tied on her ring finger)
  • a variety of shots, as creative as I can get in a room
  • some elements of lip syncing, during the more essential parts of the song (such as 'Freddy come back'
  • whole video shot in one room - I ended up not wanting to go through with the happy ending; I hope to make this video less cliché than going from sad -> happy, and I think the lack of a 'definite' happy ending as such
  • speaking of the ending - I want to try to show the character 'getting over' the relationship, possibly by tearing down the yarn off the walls and putting it away in a box?
  • just as I mentioned before, great attention is going to be paid to the colours and the general aesthetic of the video
  • cyclical - begins and ends with a very similar shot, if not identical
